Off-Highway and Severe Service Cabs
Off-Highway and Severe Service Cabs back

Tough applications require tough cabs. Bentz manufactures operator cabs and crew cabs for construction equipment, concrete mixers and other off-highway and severe service applications. Bentz engineers will work with customers to design cabs that maximize driver comfort, visibility and access to controls.

Manufactured with durability in mind, Bentz manufactures complete cab assemblies including cab structure, doors, windows, interior trim, gauges, controls, seats, HVAC, and electrical and pneumatic systems. Bentz is capable of providing cab assemblies in all basic material formats including aluminum, stainless steel, galvanneal steel, cold-rolled steel and molded composites.

Bentz focus in the off-highway cab market is low to medium volume cab assemblies requiring high levels of engineering, complex assembly methods and high levels of value-added trim.

Off-Highway Cabs for Terex Advance Mixer
One example of Bentz off-highway cabs is our current status as supplier of cabs to Terex Advance Mixer. Terex Advance Mixer is the market leader in front discharge concrete mixers. Bentz supplies two cabs to Terex Advance Mixer, the Standard Cab (one-man cab) and the Workspace Cab (two-man cab).

Standard Cab
The Standard Cab, or one-man cab, is the standard cab offering on Terex Advance Mixer front discharge mixers. It is also available on glider kits. A narrow profile and a spartan operator environment are descriptors of the Standard Cab.

  • Stainless steel square door assembly, left side only

  • Door lock and latch assembly with hardware and seal

  • Front windshield, three-piece, flat

  • Side windows with manual-crank regulators

  • Rear corner windows, fixed, with seals

  • Tan interior trim paint, exposed interior surfaces only

  • Primer, all exterior surfaces

  • Headliner soft trim panel with dome light

  • Back wall soft trim panel

  • Floor mat, horizontal and vertical surfaces of lower tub, with 304 stainless steel #7 pre-buff finish trim angles

  • Exterior grab handle

  • Interior trim completed by Terex Advance Mixer per vehicle and customer specifications and optional equipment configurations

Workspace Cab
The Workspace Cab, or two-man cab, is a new generation of operator cab. Bentz participated in a two-year product development and design effort with Terex Advance Mixer engineers and a team of fellow suppliers culminating in prototype production in June 2005 and full production in August 2005. The cab is focused on providing significant improvements in operator comfort and productivity. The cab has 25% more interior volume than the previous cab. The cab also features a wider profile allowing for the inclusion of an optional jump seat for driver training.

General Specifications
  • Stainless steel cab assembly using combination of 201 stainless steel with 2B mill finish and galvanneal steel; combination of weld, rivnut and adhesive assembly

  • Stainless steel square door assembly, left side only

  • Door lock and latch assembly with hardware

  • Front windshield, flat

  • A-pillar windows, flat

  • Side windows with electric regulators

  • Rear corner windows, fixed, with seals

  • Gray interior trim paint, exposed interior surfaces only

  • Primer, all exterior surfaces

The Workspace Cab is available with an optional Buddy Seat for trainer applications. This provides excellent communication between the trainer and trainee, and gives that hands-on training environment necessary for optimum driver training.
